Who We Are

BitcoinBeginners is an educational platform about Bitcoin. We are operated from Bulgaria, within the European Union, and are therefore subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What Data We Collect

We collect minimal data:

  • Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password in our database. This data is used solely to authenticate you and manage your subscription.
  • Payment data: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe may retain billing information in accordance with their own privacy policy.
  • Newsletter email: If you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Usage data: Basic, anonymous analytics such as page views and traffic sources. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

We do not use advertising tracking cookies, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or any cross-site tracking technology.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

We process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Account data & session cookie: Performance of contract — necessary to provide the service you signed up for (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • Billing & subscription records: Legal obligation — required to be retained for 7 years under EU financial regulations (Article 6(1)(c)).
  • Anonymous usage analytics: Legitimate interest — understanding how visitors use the site in order to improve it, using only aggregated, non-identifiable data (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Newsletter: Consent — you opt in voluntarily and may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (Article 6(1)(a)).

Cookies & Session Data

We set one strictly necessary cookie: a session token used to keep you logged in after you create an account. This cookie contains no personally identifiable information beyond an encrypted reference to your session. It expires after 7 days and is required for the site to function for authenticated users.

We do not set advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe is GDPR-compliant. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare — our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare Workers and Pages, meaning all traffic passes through Cloudflare's network. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary:

  • Account data (email, hashed password): retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion via your account page, your data is deleted immediately.
  • Subscription and billing records: retained for 7 years as required by EU financial record-keeping obligations, even after account deletion.
